A Tranquil Space

Right before the big blizzard of 2010 hit, I spent the evening of Thursday February 4th at a book launch soiree at Darlington House for Tranquilista: Mastering the Art of  Enlightened Work and Mindful Play. The essence of the Tranquilista book is a guide to taking spirituality and “creative individual expression and offers an entrepreneurial approach to everything from homemaking to brand building. Step-by-step projects and to-do’s cover a tranquilista’s key pursuits: meditation, setting goals, personal style, living green, and even launching a nonprofit.” The author of the book, Kimberly Wilson, is the founder of Tranquil Space which is a yoga studio that now has 3 locations in the DC area. Tranquil Space was named one of the top 25 yoga studios in the world!  Kimberly is quite an accomplished and inspiring woman and when you hear her speak in person you understand how special she really is.  In addition to authoring several books and running the Tranquil Spaces studios and designing an eco-luxe lifestyle wear, Kimberly has also founded the tranquil space foundation to assist women and girls with finding their inner voice through yoga, creativity, and leadership.
The book party was incredibly fitting for Kimberly’s personality and spirit.  The zen vibe of candles, flowers and live piano music were relaxing and welcoming as were the special tranquilista martinis (infused with lavender vodka) and tasty and healthy bites that were passed around throughout the evening.  Giftbags for the guests were thoughtfully filled with incense, soaps and tea amongst other things and there were delicious treats of personalized tranquilista white chocolate covered marshmallows colorfully sprinkled on all the tables in the room. Kimberly read an excerpt from her book and signed copies for guests who all seemed really happy for Kimberly and all her success.  Congratulations to Kimberly on all her endeavors and accomplisments.
