Wednesday evening, after much anticipation, The Waterfront Market, located in a favorite neighborhood and a new concept by Bittersweet’s owner Jody Manor, opened with great fanfare. Guest noshed on appetizers and special cocktails while touring the space. This spacious 4000 square-foot gourmet market is located at the newly minted 7 King Street address and offers custom sandwiches, flatbreads, sushi, weekend brunch, and other quick service items. The retail market sells gourmet grocery items, fresh produce, roasted chickens, salads, and side dishes as well as a comprehensive selection of craft beers and local and international wines. The café seats 76 inside, 20 on the sidewalk on King Street and another 54 on a city-owned, waterfront boardwalk behind the building overlooking the marina, taking full advantage of the city’s views of the Potomac River.
