ArtJamz in Georgetown for the Holidays

I have to ask ArtJamzfounder & Chief Creative Enabler Michael Clements if I can officially call myself an “ArtJammer” now that I’ve participated in three sessions.  I mean, I know I’m sure as hell no “artist”, but “ArtJammer” has a nice ring to it.  And not that I’ve loved each of my ArtJamz creations, but that really is not the point of these fun functions.  Rather it seems to be quite the opposite; it’s less about art and more about getting creative, being social, letting yourself go and painting with no fear.  And isn’t that just how life should be?

This holiday season, one of what we at the Punch consider to be the best event platforms in the city, is coming to Georgetown.  We call ArtJamz a definite “Punch Pick.” And P.S. what nicer gift to present to someone special than something you made yourself?

$65 includes all-you-can-drink beer, wine and vitaminwater zero, hors d’Å“uvres, pinkberry fro-yo, great music, a 22 x 28 canvas that you get to paint and keep, unlimited acrylic paints, brushes, art materials, tips from our ArtJamz Creative Enablers and a chance to meet and bond with your fellow intrepid painters.

Since launching in Summer 2010, ArtJamz has turned the city’s creative scene upside by getting Washingtonians engaged and participating in the creative process. Sold-out sessions have been held at The American Art Museum, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Irvine Contemporary, Long View Gallery, plus at restaurants such as Cafe Asia and empty retail spaces from H Street NE to Crystal City and Columbia Pike.
