What better way to end a long week than with champagne, cupcakes and a comical book? At Olsson’s Books & Records in Dupont on Friday, July 11th, DC DailyCandy editor Erin Hartigan was joined by some of DC’s finest femmes for cocktails and a good chuckle at the release of DailyCandy’s new book. The DailyCandy Lexicon: Words That Don’t Exist But Should captures those moments in life when there just don’t seem to be any words for the situation at hand. You know we have ALL been there!

Delectable cupcakes from the not-yet-opened Hello Cupcake in Dupont Circle were artfully displayed (and enjoyed), and as if we needed an added incentive to buy this clever read, gift bags chock-full of goodies were given out with every book purchased. The versatile Mi-Bags included a Stila Cosmetics eyeshadow trio, perfume samples, coupons, and other glamorous give-aways. Haute Papier even made custom note cards showcasing some of Erin’s favorite fabricated words for the bags.
So put down your crappuccino (“a poorly made coffee beverage that costs upwards of $4”) and indulge a little. Everyone’s vocabulary could use a super sweet update.
Missed the launch party? Not to worry — The DailyCandy Lexicon: Words That Don’t Exist But Should is available at www.amazon.com and your nearest Olsson’s. ………………………….written by and photos by Guest Blogger April Black.
