the surprise party on the rooftop at the Thompson Beverly Hills

We are back in the DC saddle, just ramping up for the storm (not Issac) which is inevitable according to the email inbox.  Actually, it’s been a nice “quiet” two weeks and LA was quite enjoyable, if not hot.  Here are a few photos from the trip.  Thanks to everyone who came out to the west coast surprise party held at the rooftop at the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills including the great staff there: Lindsay Taub, Michael Nash, Will Browning, Alex Gagne, Jill Haber, Leah Dyrud, Kristin Martelll, Karla Ballard, Amy Senger, Masha Olsen, and Liesl Jackson.  What a surprise! Even though the server in the elevator almost ruined it by asking as I rode up: “So, are you going to the birthday party?” Good save Lindsay.

Cheers! and yes, they made me wear the princess "tiara"

Visiting LA (Pacific Punch) in August 2012

Pacific Punch Managing Editor Lindsay Taub, me and filmmaker Michael Nash at Baby Blues BBQ in WeHo

And may we suggest that if you are in the mood for some damn good kickin’ BBQ, head to West Hollywood and dig into Baby Blues BBQ. Here we dined in style with owner Dr. Paul Song.  Their chicken, mac and cheese, veggie dishes were out of this world, served up with with a smile. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t share with you that the chef had just returned from a successful tuna catching expedition and he may have plated up a few sashimi creations. So we were privy to land and sea that night.
