Bark and Soul
No Comments »Bow wow wow, yappy yo, yappy yay! The national holiday of “Take Your Dog To Work Day” (yes, it was declared a holiday in 1999, thank you very much) is Friday, June 26th. Art and Soul and The Liaison Capitol Hill, an Affinia Hotel, are honoring the day by having a Pooch Power Hour from 3pm-5pm and all proceeds go to benefit Punch Community Partner Washington Humane Society.
The hotel’s patio as well as the restaurant’s patio are pet-friendly so not only are they welcoming patrons to come by with their pooches that day, but staff will be bringing their dogs to work too (can you say, doggie bag?) Those on two feet will take in Art and Soul signature appetizers as well as flights of local beers and newly concocted patio cocktails. Those lower to the ground won’t be left behind, as they will munch on the Puppy Patio Menu which includes Puppy Cakes, Hungry Dawg, Grilled Steak, Bowser Beer and more (again, can you say, doggie bag? and I mean the kind where you clean up after them).
Partial proceeds from the party will go to Washington Humane Society. Tickets are $40 for humans and $10 per canine. For more information and to buy tix go to www.artandsouldc.com.
Take Your Dog To Work Day was first celebrated in 1999, and was created to celebrate the great companions dogs make and to encourage their adoption from humane societies, animal shelters and breed rescue clubs. This annual event encourages employers to experience the value of pets in their workplace for this one special day to promote pet adoptions. http://www.takeyourdog.com
