Bloggers Don’t Just Write
No Comments »Way back when on Friday the 13th, I was one very very very tired, yet lucky panelist who was asked to speak on the topic of new media in business. (Remember, the night before I was at the Capitol File “Reawakening” party then went to IndeBleu for the Tantra Lounge’s 1000 Nights party? No? Good, let’s keep it that way.) Anyway, even though I was exhausted, my adrenaline was pumping because: Yippee! I was going to talk about one of my favorite topics: Pamela’s Punch. It was an opportunity to share with the attendees why I started the blog, how I started it, what keeps me going, what I define as success pertaining to the Punch, the future of this blog, as well as offering tips and suggestions to those interested in starting their own.
The one thing I did make mention of during my opening remarks, was that “I have an over active social life, hence the voice.” Let’s just say that going to bed at 2 am (ish) and getting up at the unspeakable hour of 6 am (ish), (I hit that snooze button so many times it almost fell off) was a trying moment in my overly social life, but so well worth it. I didn’t even scare the attendees away with my voice that sounded vaguely like a cat had sharpened her claws on my throat as I slept for four hours.
The cool conference called New Media Nouveaux was produced by Success in the City, the brainchild of Cynthia de Lorenzi. They even have their own blog called Power Room Diaries, a real hoot to read if you get a chance to check it out. This all day fun and interactive content rich event was held at the Tower Club and was standing room only. I have included three links to re-caps of the event. Everyone was there to find out how to best incorporate new media and its various avenues into their business, their lives, their future. It was an exciting topic to learn about and speak to, and again, I was honored to participate.
Thanks to Cynthia, Geoff Livingston, Jen Sterling, Ken Yarmosh and Brian Williams! (remember, the great look to this site is because of Viget Labs!)
