Decorating Den’s Final Workshop with The Dandelion Patch in Leesburg

The Dandelion Patch Decorating Den Workshops

The Dandelion Patch Decorating Den Workshops

Last week, The Dandelion Patch hosted its next to last Decorating Den design workshop at its Georgetown Mall location.  We learned about window treatments, draperies, silks, and blinds.  For those of us who stare at our boring verticals and barely shady shades, this was actually quite an educational experience.  Fine, it’s true. I have no window treatments.  And what came with this apartment really does not count. However, I am willing to learn and so were the others who were in attendance.

Trends in the past were heavy, however nowadays, it’s quite the thing to think “light, light, light” – even with drapes, shades, and out outer pane decor.  We learned about drapes from Jan Bertin, Jackie Moyer taught us about blinds (I had no idea of the extent of Roman and hobbled, flat and waterfall, casual, contemporary, and all of the types of materials), and Amelia Logan provided us with an extensive presentation on silks.

I left with a few items from The Dandelion Patch (who can enter and not leave with somethings?) and a lot of new knowledge, as well as an appointment for some much needed treatments.

Tuesday, the 7th in Leesburg is the final workshop. This muffins and mimosas learning lesson will be about “accessories”.

11-12 PM

Does your home need a little extra sparkle? Come and learn how to add jewelry to your home to complete your decorating ensemble. Award winning interior decorator, Lauren Riddiough Clement will show you how accessories make the difference in finishing a room.
