Last night was hot, but Splash by D’Milikah brought the heat. Northern Virginia swimwear line D’Milikah presented its High Summer Blurry Feminine collection in a runway show at Nick’s Riverside Grill along Georgetown’s waterfront. Models with limbs for days emerged from a yacht and effortlessly strut down the stairs and aisle in Brazilian-inspired swimwear and cover-ups.
WPGC’s 95.5 Sunni and TV personality Wil Onix Lash hosted the event, and D.C. Style Blogger Ashley Gaga was one of the models. Grupo Candeias kicked off the show with their performance of the Brazilian art form Capoeira.
D’Milikah swimwear has already made a splash in Los Angeles, appearing in the GRAMMY Celebrity Gift Lounge as well as the Oscars gift bag. The collection will now be showcased in D.C. under the direction of founder Emily Gonzaga. As designer, Gonzaga shies away from designing suits only fitted to the “perfect Brazilian body,” but rather specializes in outfitting the everyday woman. Her newest collection, Blurry Feminine, blends an 80s vibe and bold animal prints.

And a job well-done to Punch correspondent Whitney Stringer for planning and executing the event!
