Dorri Thyden Art Exhibit Private Reception — Thursday, August 14th

Save the date for this sure-to-be fabulous private art reception on Thursday, August 14th at the Touchstone Gallery (406 7th St., NW, Second Floor). Dorri Thyden’s Capitol Colors collection breathes life – and, no surprise, lots of color – into some of DC’s most iconic images. Her big, bold paintings spruce things up and remind all of us why we are so lucky to be living in the nation’s capital. Who couldn’t use a brighter outlook on the city?

Monuments come alive and political parties unite through Dorri’s use of vibrant color and creativity. An Arizona native, Dorri’s old home and new home collide as Capitol Colors is exhibited alongside Southwest, which captures some Latin flair inspired by The Grand Canyon State. Shrinking violets beware! Her fun pieces are anything but forgettable.

So pencil in some culture to your schedule and swing by after work. The reception runs from 6-9 p.m. See something you like? All originals paintings (and original replicas if someone beat you to it) are available for sale. Dorri also offers note cards of her collections, or you can select an assortment of your favorite pieces to create a collection of your own. While you sip wine and mingle, you can meet the talented artist and even request a custom painting to capture your inner colors.
