Fancy Pants : Michael Andrews Bespoke Opens in Washington, DC

We’ve not ever accused the men in our city to be slow on the uptake in fashion (cough, cough), but it is rather interesting as of late the slew of bespoke clothiers who have descended upon Washington.  There are a number of them but the latest which just held its launch party this week is Michael Andrews Bespoke (note many are coming from up north, as in NYC) found at 1604 17th Street, NW. Having conquered Manhattan by making “Best Of” lists (New York Magazine, Time Out New York, Bloomberg Markets, AM New York and JW Marriott Magazine), the suitor which specializes in slim-fit suits, shirts, tuxedos, sports coats, trousers, and overcoats for men, cut to clients’ precise measurements, arrives just in time for balls, galas, and helloooo INAUGURATION.

Michael Andrews Bespoke carries three levels of distinction, the Entrada, Primo and Ultimo with prices starting at $995, $1,395 and $2,395 respectively. Andrews is a leader in taking a boy’s club approach to retail, with an off-the-beaten-path, location and ‘by appointment’ schedule. A key focal point at both the New York City and new DC studio is a lavish eight-foot long, fully stocked bar, which makes it easy to linger before (and after) appointments.

Also, at Michael Andrews Bespoke, clients have the opportunity to choose the inner and outer patterns as well as thread color and button type (wood, horn, or mother-of-pearl). Custom shirts, ties, and artistic cuff links round out the workplace wardrobe.
