Fashion Fights Poverty Celebrated 5 Years Friday Night
The photos are in and all over the internet, but here are just a few from Friday night’s Fashion Fights Poverty Celebrates 5 Years, taken by photographer Tony Brown with Imijination Photography. I took several as well and will post on Flickr and Facebook for your viewing enjoyment.
Some of the evening’s highlights are that the former event marketing organization is now officially a 501 c 3 status; Planet Green‘s model/host Summer Rayne Oakes (who wore a Jean-Paul Gaultier safety pinned dress with butterflies) and Will Thomas (who donned some highlights from the Men’s Department of Chevy Chase Bloomie’s) of Fox5 News emceed the event; for many of the designers this year was their first time participating in annual the show; this was the first year there was no rain that fell on the fashion forward parade; the models who walked the catwalk actually donated their time; singer Dynez performed as “1/2 time” entertainment; the designers employ ethical practices and eco-friendly materials, many of which were inspired by their birth countries, like Ghana; the after party, which was held at Midtown and Midtown Loft was hosted by the CW’s Paul Wharton.
