Flavor of the Month

The national magazine industry may be suffering, but locally, we appear to be thriving.  A brand spanking new publication came across my lap late last week (thank you to Sara Damelio at The Still Point who gave me a copy).  Flavor Magazine focuses on seasonal, local, sustainable, artisanal, and unique foods, beverages, wines, farmers, and businesses.  They entered the Metro area/Virgina market in late summer with an August/September issue.  October/November is filled with interesting articles, interviews, recommendations, and recipes which spotlight the autumn season.

From dairy farming to local butcher shops, to wines (there’s a great piece on Lori Corcoran of Corcoran Vineyards found in The LC), if you have a bent for the better food world, this magazine is for you. There’s also a nice article on Todd and Ellen Gray of Equinox and a feature on excellent Thanksgiving recipes.
