Frank McCourt at Smithsonian Baird Auditorium: November 5th, 7pm
No Comments »
Even if you are not the quintessential literary type, you will certainly enjoy this Wednesday evening’s "An Evening with Frank McCourt". I attended last Wednesday’s "Interview with Jacques Pepin" (post in the works!) at the same Baird Auditorium found within the National Museum of Natural History, and the place was standing room only. Basically, we suggest you get your ticket fast and get there early for a good spot - and bring your book for signing!
The Smithsonian offers wonderful, more intimate live interview opportunities for very little cost, so it is wise to take advantage of these events held in our Nation’s Capital.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Since the publication of Angela’s Ashes more than a decade ago, Frank McCourt has been the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Critics Award, the American Booksellers Association ABBY Award, and the Los Angeles Times Book Award.
One of literature’s superstars, McCourt reminisces about his impoverished youth in Western Ireland, the life lessons that he learned as a result of the experience, and the townsfolk of Limerick who influenced his life.
The event will be held at the National Museum of Natural History
