GIRL RISING, a groundbreaking film directed by Academy Award nominee Richard Robbins, was created by 10×10, a global campaign to educate and empower girls. It tells the stories of 9 girls from around the world, who are fighting for an education and a chance. The message is simple: if we educate girls, we can change their future. Each girl’s story was written by an author and is narrated by a cast of great actresses, including Meryl Streep, Kerry Washington, Anne Hathaway and Salma Hayek.
As part of Hyatt’s commitment to make a difference and thrive in our communities, Park Hyatt Washington has partnered with Girl Rising to spread awareness and take action to empower young girls in the developing world through education.
Proceeds from the film go right back to 7 NGO Partners, including: Girl Up / UN Foundation, CARE, World Vision, A New Day Cambodia, Room to Read.
