VEEP tells the story of former senator Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), a rising star in her party and an influential leader who becomes Vice President of the United States. The show chronicles the daily dilemmas of Vice President Meyer, who juggles a busy public schedule and a demanding private life, all while discovering that her new job is unlike anything she expected.

But, with no direct connection to that other famous person who almost made it as vice president. Wink. Wink.
