Headed South for the Spring

As mentioned before, this writer’s blocked lady has booked a weekend away to read, write and relax.  Pictures and posts will be forthcoming, including my meeting with Kilian Hennessy (yes, THE Kilian Hennessy, heir to the cognac throne, grandson of the founder of The LVMH Group-pictured below and sorry ladies, he’s taken) who just launched his internationally revered scent line in the DC area at Saks Fifth Avenue in the Tysons Galleria.

I had the distinct honor and privilege of conversing with Kilian and By Kilian CEO of North America, Elisabeth Jones while sipping rose’ champagne (in Le Bar, naturally).  Both were beyond beautiful (made me proud to be a brunette) and delightful.  And oui, they found a new loyal client. After an education about the origination of his passion for the science of fragrance making, I got to test out each.  In the end, I fell in love with three of the uni-sex fragrances which are created with exceptional raw materials and expensive, rare essential oils. Apparently I have an affinity towards “vanilla”.  Hmmm. What does that mean?

Also, look for posts on the upcoming events as well as this week’s functions, including Refugees International‘s panel on the Hill Wednesday morning with Her Majesty Queen Noor, UN High Commissioner for Refugees António Guterres, Senator Carl Levin & Senator Patrick Leahy & Iraqi Ambassador Samir Shakir M. Sumaida’ie. It was a standing room only (literally) gathering with exceptional remarks and visuals on the severe humanitarian needs that persist in Iraq.

Thank you for reading the Punch and please enjoy a break Friday and maybe Saturday … we shall see … but follow on Twitter @pamelaspunch and Facebook for photos and updates…
