Just humor me
No Comments »Everyone could use an opportunity to laugh just a bit (or a lot) in this unbearable DC heat. Thanks to 5-6-7-8, the newest Improv Troupe to hit Washington, you’ll get your chance to. The group will be performing to the delight of audiences on Wednesday the 23rd (7pm) and Friday the 25th (10pm) at the Universalist National Memorial Church for the Capital Fringe Festival.
The show is called Insta-Play, which is the latest “off the cuff” production from this new Washington group. This fully made up play will make you laugh, cry, gasp and wonder “how in the world did they do it?” with just a little help from the audience (who doesn’t love mixing it up a bit with the actors?).
Just who are these people who make up 5-6-7-8? From an elementary school teacher to a radio DJ to a government lawyer, this local Improv Troupe is made up of Washingtonians from a wide variety of experiences and backgrounds. This crew of entertainers has been working together for over six months with incredible success and accolades.
Speaking of accolades, check out this review from the Washington City Paper: http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/blogs/fringe/2008/07/21/instaplay/

Capital Fringe Festival presents a vibrant cultural experience, contributing to the city’s economic health, growth, and possibilities by offering “cool” things to do. During the 2007 Fringe Festival 20,000 tickets were sold, 508 individual performances happened in over 20 venues in and around the District.
