Kate Beckinsale Comes to DC

Last evening Capitol File Magazine held an advance screening of the film “Nothing But the Truth”, the loosely (and I mean loosely) based story of the Valerie Plame case. 

The best part of the evening was discovering a fantastic venue, The US Navy Memorial at 701 Penn Ave, NW.  The extended spread and multiple specialty cocktails for the reception following the movie were something that reminded us of pre-recession days.  It was very impressive.

The star of “Nothing But the Truth”, Kate Beckinsale, was there to be interviewed and get some photos taken of her absolutely stunning self.  She’s the kind of woman women love to hate because she’s well.. simply put, aesthically perfect.  She’s also the type of woman that men want to stare at for hours on end.  Women stare at her as well to see if they can find one flaw, which they can’t.

Spoiler alert to the movie: She bares down to no makeup during the majority of the movie (think Charlize Theron in “Monster“).  Also, Alan Alda does a decent job of playing her attorney Mr. Dubois, but I personally think that Blue Ray high def should be banned from the big screens.  Perhaps we should go back to the days when directors would put Vaseline on the cameras to cloud up the actors.
