Kick Off for 2008 Capital Hospice Gala

A bright and sunny day greeted guests as they walked up the driveway to the beautiful home of Jeff and Shelley Hilber. The philanthropic couple recently hosted a kickoff party for the 2008 Capital Hospice Passion for Caring Gala: Argentina and its Passions. The famed event will be held on Saturday, October 4th for 800 guests at the historic National Building Museum in DC.
Anyone who is anybody within the charity social circuit attended the kickoff in support of Capital Hospice and gala chair, Wendy Adeler Hall, of Adeler Jewelers in Great Falls. On the invite list were representatives from BB&T, Gannett, PricewaterhouseCoopers, ITT, Bacardi and XO Communications.
Ridgewells catered the evening and set the festive mood with a true Argentinean spread that was as delightful looking as it was delicious! With the “taste” in their minds and expectations high, guests can now look forward to an authentic Asado at historic Spring Brook Farm in Waterford, VA, graciously hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Jorge Adeler on Sunday, May 18.
Kicking off the evening, Malene Davis, CEO of Capital Hospice, thanked supporters by the likes of Annie Totah, Bob Okun, Ricardo Villanueva and Sue and Timothy Albrecht. With a guest list like that, the evening leant itself to the beginning of a gala of which you’ll want to see and be seen.
Thank you to Caroline for this post and to Wendy Adeler Hall for taking on the position of Gala Chairwoman. For more information on the event, please go to http://www.capitalhospice.org/support/events/gala.asp.
