Mad Hatters for Good
Post written by Lena Aburdene
Dupont Circle’s Darlington House hosted a fabulous event last night, benefiting The Many Hats Institute‘s initiative, the Latin American Youth Center.
Founded in 1999, The Many Hats Institute is a non-profit dedicated to improving the conditions for children and youth worldwide. MHI takes advantage of the many hats that people wear or have the potential to wear. The strategy of the institute is to leverage time, talent and resources from the “Many Hatters” from around the world. The ultimate objective is empowerment—empowerment of youth and empowerment of the people who want to help youth, as quickly as possible in as many places as possible.
There was a real positive energy at this event. It is obvious that the people dedicated to Many Hats are passionate and devoted to improving the lives of others and it was very touching and inspiring to be a part of that. There was an assortment of wonderful food and inventive specialty cocktails, as well as a display of photographs by the talented Thorne Sirbak. Event attendees entered a raffle with great prizes from the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Washington, DC, Darlington House (just to name a few), and also left with great gift bags!
