Martha’s Table Goes to Cirque du Soleil
By Punch Premiere Correspondent Lindsey Clark
As if July were not exciting enough, Cirque du Soleil comes to town next week with the Michael Jackson Immortal World Tour. I will admit that I have had my tickets for over a year (to say I LOVE all things Cirque would be a drastic understatement), but if you did not think to plan quite so far in advance, you can still get tickets AND contribute to a great cause. Local organization Martha’s Table, which helps provide services to feed, clothe, and educate over a thousand people a day, has tickets available for the performance on Sunday, July 15th that includes entry into a pre-show reception at the Dewar’s Clubhouse in the Verizon Center. All proceeds for ticket sales through Martha’s Table (tickets start at just $100), will go back to the organization, and the pre-show reception will wow attendees with live performances, circus-themed artists, music by Christylez, food, drinks, and (if I can keep my sister out of it long enough to give other people a chance) a photobooth.
A limited amount of tickets are still available here, so don’t miss out! The reception at the Dewar’s Clubhouse is from 2-4pm, immediately followed by a performance of Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson Immortal in the Verizon Center.
