Modern Works of Wearable Art Designers Slated to be Offered at the Newly Expanded Tiny Jewel Box

When the decision was made to go forth with the stately expansion that the 85-year old Tiny Jewel Box is now about to finish up (slated for the beginning of December), the family-owned business of three generations thought why not also bring in new designers to their already carefully curated collection? “We are excited to add many designers to our exclusive offerings with this expansion, including: Cartier watches, IWC Watches, Adel Chefridi, Carla Amorim, Marli, Paul Morelli, Spinelli Kilcollin, Temple St. Clair, Lika Behar, Sakamoto, Elizabeth Garvin, Yossi Harari, Annie Fensterstock and George Sawyer; all exclusive to us in DC.  We’ve taken great care to maintain a matrix curated specifically for DC tastes,” Tiny Jewel Box President Matthew Rosenheim said.

With a hashtag which gives a nod to humor (#TinyJewelBoxNotSoTinyAnymore) the company is embracing fresh faced designers who present modern works of wearable art which appeal to the next generation of fine jewelry collectors – you know, those who are already all about the hashtags and social media. These buyers may be displaying their new pieces on Instagram early and often.

Amongst these modern works of art are from Marli, Spinelli Kilcollin and Chefridi, which are pictured below. Make sure you come in to see their exquisite designs and meet them when Tiny Jewel Box hosts its grand opening. Marli’s designer Maral Artinian will be in the store to meet customers for the grand opening on December 4th and 5th. Spinelli Kilcollin’s designer Yves Spinelli and Adel Chefridi will be on site to welcome customers on December 11th and 12th.  These will be just a few of the jewelry industry’s most celebrated designers making appearances in the store in early December.

Spinelli Kilcollin is a luxury jewelry company based and manufactured in Los Angeles, CA.  The company was founded by designer Yves Spinelli, in 2010. Yves Spinelli was born in Honolulu, the son of Italian hairstylists. His introduction to the fashion world came through his father Antoine Spinelli, who spent time between Hawaii and New York City working alongside renowned hairstylists Paul Mitchell, Garren Defazio and Roger Thompson in the 70’s and 80’s. Yves studied jewelry in high school at Punahou. After moving to Los Angeles in 1997, he began his career in luxury fashion working at the iconic boutique Maxfield, moving up to store manager and top salesperson of Maxfield Bleu from 2005 – 2009.  After years of working at Maxfield with some of the best designer collections in the world, Yves was inspired to start designing jewelry. In a marketplace of ornate and figurative jewelry Yves yearned for something clean and architectural. He created a set of linked rings of different thicknesses which could be worn a number of ways – spread across three fingers, or stacked on one. From this first set he immediately began taking private orders. Spinelli Kilcollin launched their first group of interconnected Galaxy Rings at Maxfield, and began incorporating diamonds into their collection. In 2012 they made a custom linked ring for Ikram Goldman with 5 carats of diamonds, and immediately garnered national press and the attention of luxury retailers including Barneys. Spinelli Kilcollin continues to develop their voice by combining a contemporary minimalist aesthetic with intricate craftsmanship and materials, aspiring to become a dominant voice in the luxury market.
