Narrowing the Playing Field (in the shoe department)

My long time fabulous friend Lacey Kirstein had a dream.  She dreamed that one day her delicate feet would fit well into shoes that had style, class, appeal, and well – did I mention style?  Lacey has what they call in the podiatry world: narrow feet.  I always thought that would be better than being blessed with wide feet, but I learned that this was not necessarily the case.  While most retailers will carry “W” in various sizes and styles, the “N” was rarely found.  Thus, my dear friend Lacey had a traumatic childhood.  She passed through the stages of her life with lovely fashionable outfits atop and funny looking, unflattering, unmatching shoes on the bottom.  (Hey, kids can be mean!  Remember?)  Ok, well, I may exaggerate, but I do know she and her parents were put to the test.  Lacey, still being put to the test as an adult, decided to take her dream and make it a reality.

Today, Lacey is the proud Founder and President of LaceyK Shoes (www.laceykshoes.com).  These extremely stylish, uniquely designed women’s shoes are not only gorgeous, but very high end (and high heeled).  And yes, they fit the narrow foot.  I admire Lacey because she did her research on the market and found that there could be buyers.  They were just hard to seek out.  There was no “Narrow Foot Anonymous Club” on the Internet.  She tirelessly did her homework by meeting with and interviewing well known retailers, buyers, manufacturers and designers all over the country and even traveled to Italy.  Lacey has been working on this for over a year and now she finally stepped out of the gate (pun intended).

I personally viewed some of her designs and was wow’ed.  While the price tag is that of a Jimmy Choo or Manolo, they look well worth it.  I put an order in for a few pairs (did I mention, her designs actually come in regular as well?) and these delectable pieces of foot artwork are being created in Italy as I write.

Look for LaceyK shoes to be featured in the June issue of InStyle magazine, as well as other fashion pubs soon.  I would not be surprised if narrow footed Hollywood’ers start sending in their orders very soon.  Congrats Lacey!  (and where is my order?!)

Shoes certainly evoke a whole host of emotions in women, some of which rival the fervent pitch of a Mitt Romney debate!! ….to conjure up & elicit those emotions, visit the laceyk site again next week when it launches!
