National Museum of Women in the Arts turns the big 21
No Comments »The thought provoking works of Paula Rego were on display at the stately National Museum of Women in the Arts Gala on Friday evening. As usual, the guests were a painting of elegance and sophistication. Ms. Rego is Portuguese, so it was a pleasure to have His Excellency, The Ambassador of Portugal and Mrs. Joao de Vallera in attendance as well. Another note about this exhibit is that this is the first museum in the United States to carry a retrospective of her work.
Thank you to Cindy and Evan Jones for their generosity in having me at their table. They continue to be the consummate philanthropists and hosts for many Washington charities and causes.
The Paula Rego exhibit will continue through May 25th. Please visit www.nmwa.org for more information on the artist, exhibits, and the museum itself, which just turned 21 years old.
