Zengo Kentlands

Marc Caputo, Founder Zengo Cycle

What are you most excited about for 2015?

2015 is going to be an exciting year for Zengo.  We’ll have two new studios open before spring (Kentlands which opened Dec 31 and Mosaic in Fairfax to come). More should be on the way.  The “original” studio in Bethesda is getting a makeover.  As I write, it is being completely remodeled to our much warmer “zen” look and feel.  I want to express my gratitude to our riders, people who we can’t wait to see every day to help them gain whatever it is they want in the New Year — one rotation at a time.  Together.

Philippa Hughes, Chief Creative Contrarian, The Pink Line Project

What are you most excited about for 2015?

I’m excited about taking a writing sabbatical in Italy this spring. I was complaining to a friend about how difficult it has been to finish writing a book that I have been working on for a while because I am so distracted by all the fun things happening in DC and not having the willpower to battle my severe case of FOMO. She suggested I spend some time in her small house in Tuscany where there is no wifi and only eight houses in the village. It’s a no-brainer. I am going.

Is there a particular focus you, or your family, or your career, or your business will be centering on this coming year?

Expanding the definition of what it means to be an artist in DC and showing the powerful role that the arts play in economic development.

What are you planning CHANGING from last year?

The number of books I read and movies I see. Those numbers need to increase significantly!

Amping up living a life driven by the creative process and surrounding myself with more inspiring people who have great ideas and make them happen.

What are you planning on RATCHETING BACK from last year?

I want to ratchet back the amount of time I spend on Facebook!

What are you going to do that YOU’VE NEVER DONE?

Write a book!

I think 2015 will be a year of turning up the heat on all fronts. Afterall, 30 is on the horizon.

What are you planning CHANGING from last year?

Going to the gym more. No for real. Since starting the morning show I’ve really slacked on fitness. Hired a trainer, setting aside time to sweat and really dreading it. I mean I can’t wait!
