Paws at the Park Returns to Park Hyatt Washington DC

Blue Duck Tavern Terrace

Blue Duck Tavern Park Hyatt Washington Patio

The weather has finally turned somewhat normal. Ok, I lie. There is no “normal” for weather in Washington, D.C. with which we have all finally come to terms.  However, people love to drink and dine al fresco and the patio, rooftop, and terrace are king in this town.  Our Punch Partner Park Hyatt Washington DC has one of the more enjoyable outdoor settings because it is surrounded by their herb and veggie garden, it’s brick and lower than street level so there’s a bit of obscurity, and I love the huge fountain in the corner.   With the communal table there’s plenty of opportunity to wine and cheese with friends.  Also, starting in May, there’s another reason you can be outdoors of this grand hotel.

“Paws at the Park” kicks off on Wednesday, May 9th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and area residents and hotel guests are invited to bring their dogs to meet and mingle on the hotel’s outdoor grounds, adjacent to the lobby, outside in front of the hotel’s main entrance.

Adoptable animals from the Washington Animal Rescue League’s shelter will be present for attendees to interact with, and to perhaps find a new home.  The cost of the event is $14, which includes two drink tickets for beer and wine, plus complimentary dog treats from Pro Feed Pet Nutrition Centers.  A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the League.

Three additional Paws at the Park happy hours are scheduled for June 13, September 12; and a Halloween-themed costume contest on October 24, 2012.  Events are open to the public and all are welcome to attend. For additional information, please call the hotel concierge at +1 202 789 1234 or visit www.parkhyattwashington.com.

Wait, there’s more…

The property is now presenting the Paws at the Park overnight package, pampering pets and their owners when visiting the nation’s capital. Dogs will be treated to their own luxury experience with a take-home dog bed, dog bowl with water, and tasty dog treats, while adults receive a copy of Doggie Aficionado magazine and the book First Dogs: American Presidents and their Best Friends.

Rates for the Paws at the Park package start at $399 (including a non-refundable pet fee). To reserve this package, please call Park Hyatt Reservations at +1 800 778 7477 or visit www.parkhyattwashington.com.
