Last Thursday guests outside the Newseum were greeted with a surprise, a 12-ft-tall surprise. Residence Inn Hotels of Marriott hosted a premiere event to reveal their new ad campaign and to celebrate the occasion, Dude the giraffe acted as a fill-in to represent the animal kingdom actors used in their new commercials.

To showcase the new look of their suites, the 35-year-old brand brought in Opal the elephant, Stanley the giraffe and the Van der Beaks penguin family to show their rooms are so accommodating even wild critters can feel at home.

Residence Inn boasts 620 locations and is the third largest brand in the Marriott International family. The well-known hotels caters to the “marathon business traveler,” and their extended stay needs. Diane Mayer, Residence Inn vice president and global brand manager, was on-hand to highlight some of the hotel features like their spacious full kitchens, complimentary grocery shopping service and separate living and sleeping areas.
