Rough & Tough with Tender Hearts (and Skin): Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR Ends in DC
In case you were out of town and unplugged this weekend ( good for you), a slew of rough riders with soft hearts and a pension for doing good rode into town in order to present a check to amfAR. The annual 10 day Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR landed in the nation’s capital with a press-heavy event at the Georgetown Kiehl’s including very special guests Sharon Stone and John Corbett (otherwise known forever as Aidan on SATC and the guy from My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and other cool revved up chefs and actors like Tyson Beckford, Tricia Helfer, Katee Sackhoff, Teddy Sears, Christopher Redman, Marguerite Moreau, Timothy White, Paul Cox, Grant Reynolds, Conrad Leach, and our own D.C. (tatted) based chefs R.J. Cooper (Rogue 24), David Guas (Bayou Bakery), Mike Isabella (Graffiato and Bandolero), and Robert Weidmaier (Marcel’s, Barsserie Beck, Mussel Bar, Brabo).
Ms. Stone gave a stirring speech and accepted the check from Kiehl’s for $115,000 from the ride while Kiehl’s USA President Chris Salgardo and amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost mixed and mingled graciously with fans of the skin care line. In other news, the always ready-to-star-stalk young ladies of Washington generously posted photos left and right of themselves and Tyson Beckford on Facebook and Tweeted “I’m having dinner with Aidan!” and yadda yadda yadda….
