The BYT Howard Theatre Kick-Off Party!
By Punch Passport Correspondent Lori González Lazzarini
The Howard Theatre is an historic theatre located at 620 T Street NW which just went through a $29 million restoration. In the past the theatre was best known for many of the greatest black musical artist, such as Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Motown’s recording artists, The Supremes, and the list can go on and on.
So now that you know all the 411 on the local, I bet you are really excited to actually go and see the new state of the art facilities in person and you can on Thursday, April 26th, as I will be joining BYT (BrightestYoungThings) at The Howard Theatre re-opening celebrations with a big kick-off party to show off the new digs. The tickets Pre-Sale are $20 http://bythoward.eventbrite.com/ and at the Day of Show $25.
In attendance will be the Underground Rebel Bingo Club that is known for throwing secret parties in London, New York, Madrid as well as at major music festivals in the UK and now they’ve deemed DC worthy of their presence. Everyone please come ready to drink, dance, and to play Rebel Bingo and win prizes.
Featured performances will include:Â NANCY WHANG of LCD Soundsystem & The Juan Maclean, BIT FUNK, GAVIN HOLLAND of Nouveau Riche & Party Bros, and TED DANCIN of Posh Cavern.
Also, extra fun with Katie Balloons, burlesque performers, a contortionist, glow sticks, inflatable t-rex and more!
The doors open at 8pm and the party will go on until closing. You do not want to miss this!
