The Dandelion Patch Opens in Georgetown
The Dandelion Patch’s wish has come true. They are spreading like weeds, out from Northern Virginia and into the District. It’s actually Heidi Kallet’s dream and belief that the top stationer and gift boutique will be reaching out past the metro area and going nationwide, as she announced at the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of their new Georgetown location Thursday night.

Heidi, the blonde petite business and market savvy fireball who is the founder and head of The Dandelion Patch is a force of nature, but she openly embraces her soft nurturing side. No, the name of this award winning retailer, who hit the Northern Virginia market in 1994, has nothing to do with “weeds”. “It’s about the ‘wish’,” explained Heidi in her comforting and inspirational tone when she took the microphone pre-ribbon cutting last night.
The large space on the 2nd floor of Georgetown Park used to house Williams Sonoma, so expect a lot of inventory to be flowing in and out. Last night we nibbled on cupcakes and sipped champagne, listened to a live harpist (not everyday you hear that) and congratulated Heidi and her staff in between shopping. It’s holiday season and you need cards, you need gifts, you need party decor and favors and you need to check out The Dandelion Patch.
