It’s back….the dewdrop seasonal swap.

Get Lucky Flyer

As everyone knows, this is an exciting time for designers – old & new.  Fashion lines are launched, names made & fashion forward ideas presented.  While the runways are focused on next spring, Saturday’s event will focus on this fall and any other season your heart yearns and craves.

It is a swap, a pop up shop, a fashion show and much more.  The day will not only support and benefit you, but also, two local non-profits – Good Girls DC and Martha’s Outfitters.

Fashionistas can partake in a swap with a pop up shop and fashion show for just $10 on Saturday, September 15, 2012, from 2:00-5:00 pm, at 777 7th Street, NW.  The event will take place at the swanky rooftop lounge on 3rd Floor, above the Gallery Place Metro in the trendy Chinatown neighborhood of DC. (Rain date is September 22.)

Fashionistas will try their luck at the Get Lucky Swap by bringing their stylish items to the swap in exchange for items from other fashionistas.  Bring no less and no more than seven items of like-new clothing, shoes and accessories to swap.  In return, take home seven new-to-you items.  Embrace some more good fortune by bringing “lucky” designer jeans (Lucky Brand, True Religion and Seven for All Mankind).  For each pair, get two more items to take home.  All sizes and seasons are welcome and encouraged.  To avoid long lines and to maximize time to inspect for quality, drop-off time is from 2:00 to 3:45 pm.

Pop Up Shop Throughout the whole event, fashionistas can peruse the pop up shop where talented local apparel and accessory designers display and sell their wares.  The line-up includes Accessories That Make the Outfit, Jewelry by Carmen LeFleur, LITTLE by darin michelle, Nic’s Picks, and Styles by Elo.

VIP Lucky Charm Cocktail Hour From 2:30 to 3:30 pm, fashionistas can enjoy drinks, appetizers, as well as see a presentation of the latest fall styling tips from a major fashion expert, Monica Barnett, founder of Blueprint for Style and a Lucky Magazine Alpha Shopper.

Fashion Show: Blogger Style Challenge From 4:00 to 4:15 pm, there will be a blogger style challenge fashion show using items dropped off for the swap.  Bloggers including Be Loud Be You, Clarendon Moms, Fashionably Broke and Spicy Candy will style and model the hottest fall trends and showcase the looks for less.

The Swap At 4:15, the doors to the swap will open. Tables and clothing racks will be sorted and labeled by type of clothing and size, from extra small to plus size.

Not only can fashionistas look fabulous in their new wardrobe, but they can feel good knowing that attending the event will benefit two local non-profit organizations.  A portion of the proceeds will go to Good Girls DC, a network consisting of trendy young adult Catholic women who aim to create a place where like-minded women can find fellowship, friends, and networking opportunities while encouraging each other to live up to their God-given potential.  In addition, clothing remaining from the swap will be donated to Martha’s Outfitters.  Martha’s Outfitters’ mission is to transform lives by engaging the community in developing sustainable solutions to poverty.

Registration is now open at www.dewdrop.eventbrite.com.  Tickets are $10 if purchased online with seven items to swap.  Tickets are $15 at the door with seven items. T o attend our VIP Lucky Charm cocktail hour, tickets are $15 and are limited, and can only be purchased online.
