The lap of ultimate luxury

Who doesn’t love "luxury"?  I certainly do.  So when I receive an invite for anything with the word "luxury" in it, I feel I must check it out.  DC Magazine’s "Ultimate Luxury 2008" was held on Monday evening in the stately glass-enclosed Harman Center for the Arts.  Mind you, not all things "luxury" necessarily equal expensive, for instance, a bubble bath with champagne could be considered luxurious as well as nap on a hammock on a weekday afternoon.  Ultimate Luxury 2008 went a bit above and beyond those two examples, of course.

The magazine invited advertisers, partners, supporters and friends to enjoy numerous wines from Jackson Family paired with butler passed bites from Ridgewells, as they viewed services and products from a number of vendors.  There were exquisite jewels and watches to try on from Tiny Jewel Box, cars to sit in from Passport BMW (love them!), cigars to sniff and tuck away for later from W. Curtis Draper, and Hennessy cocktails to sip.  Vineyard Vines provided the tote for the chock full gift bag.  Other vendors included Absolute Custom, Chrome Digital Press and Marquis Jet (for those private jet setters).

It was a nice relaxed function for a Monday evening in summer.  The party was just getting started when I left, but alas, I had to get home to my bubble bath.

Hey next time take me along….please. If you decide not to go then just send me to represent. I like luxury also. I guess in your life it was just another normal Monday night.
