Last Wednesday evening I had the opportunity to walk back into Tiny Jewel Box, a darling family owned and operated multi-storied high-end jewelry and gift boutique right in D.C.’s Golden Triangle. It had been awhile since I had been there and it was just as sparkly as ever. The first person whom I ran into was owner Matthew Rosenheim, who if you’ve ever had the chance to meet him, know he has a constant smile on his face. It was a pleasure to catch up with him and we rode the elevator up to the next floor where we were greeted with flutes of champagne and butler passed hors d’oeuvres.ÂÂ
Tiny Jewel Box was hosting the launch of Nancy Clarke’s brand-new book “My First Ladies“. Ms. Clarke, the White House florist for six administrations, filled the night with tales of presidents, first ladies and their state dinners. H.Bloom, the floral subscription delivery service that just launched in Washington, filled all four floors of Tiny Jewel Box with exquisite flowers from their custom collection. The displays were just exquisite and if I may give a plug for the service, I have an arrangement in my home right now which has lasted a week and truly brightens up my place.
Former White House social secretary Amy Zantzinger welcomed the decked out attendees (who braved the weather and protesters) like Heather Podesta, former White House chief usher Gary Walters, Nectar Skin Bar owner Amy Thomas (who by day is the Director of Protocol for the UAE Ambassador), Eun Yang and Jodi Bond.
Guests walked out with a gift bag that included, courtesy of H.Bloom, copy of the book, which Ms. Clarke so kindly signed on the spot, and chocolates.
