Washington Kastles … ’til next year!

Can you believe that the WTT (that’s World TeamTennis for those of you not paying attention to the news lately) season is over? I can’t. I don’t want to. Those matches were quite fun and entertaining and gave us something to look forward to during the week. Guess it’s back to baseball, now that the Stan Kasten and the Nats have returned home after about ten days of playing away (yes, that was Mr. Kasten spotted getting his Starbucks coffee today!).
Congratulations again to Mark “King of the Kastles” Ein (will that title ever get old?), the Kastles, and all the great folks on his operations and marketing teams for pulling off their first season DC. While the torrential downpour, high winds that seemed horizontal and flooding put a short stop to the outdoor season finale, Mark was in no way going to give up. He shouted to the
crowd of a few hundred in the VIP tent (which soon flooded) to hit brave the streets and head to Haines Point, where the Kastles ended up giving Anna Kournikova’s St. Louis Aces a butt whooping.
The team celebrated their victory late night at the private club L2 by dancing in a circle-and was that a line dance Mark was leading? In any case, we look forward to seeing what the next season of WTT brings us.
