POV at the W is known for its iconic view of DC, and for rolling out the red carpet. And soon they’ll be rolling out their new Winter Cocktail Menu!  These posh offerings feature strong spirits to warm you up, and hints of citrus and spice. I got an advance look at the menu, and here are my recommendations.
The List. The menu has a range of options for all!
Ladies Choice: The Au Pair. This is the perfect sip in a classy martini glass, with an appropriately playful name. The drink is a combination of Gin and St. Germain Elderflower, Pear and Lemon Juice, Honey and a touch of spice from the Bitters. The Au Pair is smooth and sweet. I kept tasting hints of grapefruit, which I love.
Beverage for the Boys: The Oaxacan Skirt. Made of Mezcal, Scotch, Lemon Juice, Pear and Bitters.  This would be perfect served with some chips and guacamole, or really any Mexican food. Don’t let the demure glass fool you, this drink packs a punch!
Megan’s Choice: The Blacktrap Snap. This drink combines Molasses, Rum, Ginger, Lime Juice, and some fresh Nutmeg grated on top. I love a hint of spice in my drinks and this was the perfect balance of flavors. Think of a classic Dark & Stormy (featured on POV’s Summer Seasonal Menu) embellished for the holiday season.
Cocktails not your thing? Never fear, POV also has some stellar wines and a bubbly champagne selection.
POV at The W is located at 515 15th Street, NW on F Street in between 14th and 15th Streets. The hotel is within walking distance from both the Metro Center and McPherson Square metro stops. POV is located on the rooftop, and the Terrace (read view) is open daily starting at 11:00 am. The Lounge is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 6:00 pm.
