Wizards in the Kitchen at L2 Lounge
By Punch Pep Correspondent Elizabeth Fischer
I love many things in life and am passionate about many others. Those who know me know my favorite month is October, my favorite holiday (well I have three and each holds a special meaning but my fave…) is Halloween (the others: Thanksgiving and St. Patty’s Day). If I could pick my birthday it would be October 31st (or March 17th). And today (Sat, October 1st) reminds me of all the reasons why October is my favorite month and the 31st my favorite holiday– the smells, the crispness, the warmth, pumpkins, costumes galore, apple picking, apple cider, bobbing for apples, hayrides, witches, ghouls, clouds around the moon just so…and smiles.
Halloween: I love dressing up – becoming anything you dream (purchase or rent – for those of us not as skilled at sewing as others) – anything your heart desires (or your pocketbook can afford). I remember fondly: the excitement; the candy; the decorated homemade costumes (which were much better than the non-breathable plastic tear when you move costumes sold at stores); my frustration when it was cold and my parents wanted me to wear a coat over my costume and the pleasure of being finally old enough to trick –or– treat on my own with the ability to ditch the coat by the three pine trees at the corner of my property just out of my parents view; the haunted houses (the olives as eyeballs and spaghetti noodles as intestines and the moments of sheer terror when moving forward was not an option); and did I mention – the candy! (Still love Halloween candy – I remember picking through and giving my little sis all the bad candy as Carrie played in the background). I also remember the day I realized I would have to give up trick – or – treating…I was 8 and dressed as Raggedy Ann – and thankfully my tears were hidden by my red freckles…little did I realize parties were in my future
and the Rocky Horror Picture Show (one of my best/favorite costumes – me as Frankenfurter).
But I digress – see I get soo excited about the month and holiday, I almost forget the reason for this post … and that is to tell you about a great event! I realize it is almost a month away – but in a city that prides itself on events – and this event falling on a Friday – I thought it best to alert you now! This is a night fit for these times – it is about Wizards, Witches and Cooking (nothing like a kettle of some homemade …. brew, concoction, potion, tonic, liquid remedy, or …).
So join the wizards and witches Friday night, October 28th at a Halloween party at the exclusive L2 Lounge for the launch of the brand new magical recipe book Wizards in the Kitchen. Learn how to Inspire Romance, Obtain Wealth, Achieve Longevity and much more with dozens of magical recipes in this spectacularly (spooktacularly) designed, engagingly written cookbook. Your copy FREE with the price of admission! The recipes are delicious. The magic is real. And the party is to die for.
