“Women Leading the Future” 2nd Annual Conference | May 5th
By Punch Pep Correspondent Elizabeth Fischer
It has been said before and may just be said again…without sounding redundant, if you are not headed to Gold Cup or the Kentucky Derby, don a hat of a different kind and join some major players in the world today. This is a race but a race of a different kind, equally as engaging and entertaining with a few life lessons thrown in plus you may just meet the future you! I was honored to cover the event last year; and equally as honored to cover it this year.
Knowing nothing, I headed to DC last year and met some of the most amazing, talented, gifted and prolific women of our time.  That day definitely marked a new beginning for me. Because of its impact, I was surprised to learn the conference was in its inception – year one. The evidence belied its youth – hands down I thought the conference had been a yearly event for quite some time. Why? The speakers were major players locally, nationally and even internationally; and the women behind the scenes brought together the perfect recipe – a flawless day – akin to the 50s ads with a wife/mother looking impeccable, every hair in place and the make-up just right with the kids and house clean and dinner on the table.
This year is no different. So be part of a day that – like it or not - will change lives, and may even change your life.  Experience a day filled with world-renowned speakers & authors, food, drink, live music, complimented by a great space. If money is a concern, don’t let it be – Apply for a Scholarship by email to info@LadiesAmerica.com with a statement of intent.
RECAP:Â
Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Ladies America is hosting its second annual “Women Leading the Future†day-long women’s conference at Microsoft – Chevy Chase. This conference brings some of the most powerful women (and some men too!) in America together to discuss major issues and topics that are important to women today.  Focusing on women making a difference in the world, discussions will deal with where women are today and how they can become stronger, more effective leaders and why their leadership is critical as we head into the future.  You will learn from top female CEOs & Entrepreneurs; representatives from the World Bank will touch upon a report addressing the impact women are having on the global economy; you will meet representatives from the United Nation’s Foundation, authors releasing new books and hosting book signings; view presentations of impactful film clips; learn lessons on how social media can be used for social good; enjoy live musical performances, and so much more.  This is a rare “can’t miss” event for the Washington, D.C. area, with speakers coming in from all over the country!
