You’re Trumped!

Shhhhh. Listen. Did you hear that? I did.  Why that’s the sound of “power” arrving with a bit of fanfare on a private jet (or “pp” according to LuAnn, a Real Housewife from NYC) to our area. But where will this grand power be presenting itself?  No, not to the White House or the Hill or even to the Kennedy Center.  It’s coming westward of our Nation’s Capital and it’s landing smack onto a golf course-two to be exact. “The Donald” and his son Eric will be in Northern Virginia Thursday for a press conference on just what the Trump Organization will be doing to our lovely pair of golf courses and the exclusive private club/neighborhood known to we Northern Virginians as: Lowes Island.  By the way, please do yourself a favor and forget you heard, read, or spoke those words. Lowes Island no longer exists in our vocabulary.  From here on in, you must only hear, read, and speak: Trump National Golf Course, Washington, DC. And don’t ever question it.

Sources tell us that at a recent “town hall” meeting with some residents of the sprawling, lush and affluent club, formerly known as Lowes Island, Trump personally explained that what he was looking to do would be something along the lines of the famous Congressional.  Perhaps he wants to compete with Congressional or just wipe the landmark off the map (he can be aggressive, I hear).  One brave soul stood up and asked the larger than life mogul, “What if we don’t want to have the Congressional model?”  Without a blink, a wink, or a pause, the man now famous more for his hair, water, vodka, and reality show shot back, “Then you can leave.”  I suppose that’s the equilivent of being fired from a town meeting. Where were the tv cameras?

I had the opportunity to check out his Raffles a few years ago on the island of Canuoan. Trump is a true master in luxury, so I am can only imagine what will transpire off of Route 7 down yonder.

Wait, did Northern Virginia just get a little bit sexier? And is this the beginning of what’s to come in the world of real estate value, development, and a platinum lifestyle outside the Beltway? One can only hope.
